Blake leads the brand into its current, modern era of bespoke furniture while honoring the legacy of craftsmanship and quality. Since 2012, he has guided Classic Sofa’s evolution with a clear vision: to pair old-world manufacturing methods with a fresh, livable design sensibility.
With degrees in engineering and economics from Vanderbilt University, Blake brings a rare blend of technical rigor and strategic thinking to the creative process, supported by years of apprenticeship in furniture manufacturing. Blake's innate entrepreneurial sense drives the brand forward while maintaining his commitment to the craft. His roots in Yorkshire, England inform his appreciation for British craftsmanship and classic forms—naturally aligned with the brand’s namesake—which he reinterprets through a contemporary lens.
Known for his thoughtful, detail-driven approach, Blake partners closely with clients, walking them through fabric selection, comfort considerations and construction details with clarity and care. His passion for the artistry, his team and his customers is not only palpable, but magnetic. Under his leadership, Classic Sofa creates bespoke pieces that feel deeply personal and enduring—furniture that is timeless, inviting and made to be lived with for years to come.

Madeline leads the brand’s creative vision, marketing strategy, retail design and partnerships. A longtime creative partner to Classic Sofa since 2016, she officially joined the team after years of consulting on brand direction and visual experience.
Previously, Madeline spent 12 years at Anthropologie, most recently as Global Director of Brand Styling, overseeing styling, service and selling strategy across Home & Furniture, Apparel, Weddings, and Outdoor Living. She helped define the brand’s distinct home interiors point of view, led a team of design professionals, and advanced selling technologies to drive customer retention and personalized experiences. Her degree in Fine Art and Marketing from Cornell University underpins her ability to balance strong visual storytelling with clear business strategy.
With a deep passion for interior design and brand-building, Madeline brings a tailored, modern eye to Classic Sofa, thoughtfully shaping its next chapter with warmth, intention, and style. As a former Division I athlete on the Cornell Rowing team, her experience as a coxswain instilled a singular work ethic and a natural ability to strategize and navigate complex challenges—skills that are woven into the way she leads, creates, and collaborates today.

Tera is a lifelong artist whose creative journey evolved from fine art to fashion and, ultimately, to interiors. She began her career in the early 1990s, exploring how form, color, and expression could evolve beyond the canvas, and later entered the world of fashion and interiors, discovering fabric as a new kind of paint—where texture, stitching, color, and silhouette tell deeply personal stories. She brought her expertise to several prestigious showrooms in New York including A. Ruden. She believes a well-considered space should be an honest extension of the person who lives there—and approaches every project as an opportunity to align all these facets.

Born in Argentina with a lifelong love of art, design, and creativity, Paula studied Fashion and Jewelry Design, Personal Styling, and later earned a Master’s in Design from FSFA International, complemented by coursework in marketing, business, and branding. She has collaborated with small businesses and led design projects, blending aesthetics with strategic thinking to drive strong sales. At Classic Sofa, she connects designers and clients, understands their needs, and turns ideas into thoughtful, real-world solutions. Clients appreciate her professionalism, warmth, and collaborative spirit, and she values the trust and lasting relationships that form as they create spaces that feel both personal and exceptional.

Born in Jamaica and carrying a family tradition of carpentry, Paul joined Classic Sofa in the late 1980s and has become our master carpenter and a founding craftsman from our original shop. He refined his skills in framing, blending deep technical knowledge with a relentless drive to solve design challenges. Known for his positive energy, steady work ethic, and calm confidence, Paul protects the structural integrity of every piece—clearly defining what can and cannot be built so we can stand behind our frames with a lifetime guarantee. Colleagues and clients rely on his practical wisdom and steady leadership, which set the standard for our workshop culture.

With roots in Haiti, Stanley began at Classic Sofa over 30 years ago, learning upholstery from family artisans and growing into the heart of our craft. When we revived production at the Mount Vernon factory, he single-handedly cut, sewed, and upholstered each new piece—tenacity and attention to detail that now inform his role as head of our upholstery department. Stanley manages cushion proportions and the careful layout of complex fabric repeats so every seam and pattern reads perfectly across any design. His long service, passion for perfection, and quiet authority ensure each piece is treated as a singular work of art.

Originally from Guyana, Stanley Chow brings a lifetime of hands-on trade expertise—carpentry, electrical work, mining, commercial fishing and more—into his work at Classic Sofa. For over three decades, he combines seasoned craftsmanship with an intuitive touch, excelling at translating unique and complex designs into precise, beautiful frames. His natural talent with his hands, steady expertise, and infectious laugh make him both a technical anchor and a beloved presence in the shop. Apprentices and peers admire his skill and the care he brings to every challenging build.

Hailing from Ecuador, Pepito leads our delivery team and supports upholstery prep and final quality control with tireless dedication. He’s often the first in the factory and the last to leave, bringing consistent positivity and a contagious sense of humor that keeps the whole workshop smiling. Pepito combines consistent reliability with meticulous care—ensuring each piece is handled with the same love and attention we put into making it. Clients and colleagues alike value his warmth and the deep commitment he brings to every creation.
